Sleepy Hallow was involved in a violent altercation during a court appearance in New York, requiring multiple police officers to forcibly restrain him. On Tuesday, June 18th, the drill rapper was filmed fighting with an unidentified man in the courtroom. The video shows Hallow punching and kicking the man on the floor while numerous officers struggled to pull him away. Eventually, the officers managed to end the brawl and separated the two, placing Hallow back in handcuffs. During the chaos, a spectator was heard saying, “This is the stupidest shit I seen in my life.”

The cause of the altercation remains unknown, and neither Sleepy Hallow nor the police have commented on the incident.

Last month, Sleepy Hallow, alongside fellow rapper Sheff G, was arrested on conspiracy charges as part of a 140-count indictment against various New York-based gangs. The two rappers were among 32 members of the 8 Trey Crips and neighboring 9 Ways gangs. All charged with crimes ranging from murder to weapons possession, kidnapping, assault, and conspiracy. The alleged acts of violence occurred from March 2019 to the present.

Prosecutors allege that Sheff G used his earnings from rap to fund gang activities. Some including paying for hits and promoting gun violence across the city. District Attorney Eric Gonzalez stated at a press conference, “Instead of using his fame and his fortune for the betterment of himself and his family and those close to him, we allege that he used that fame and fortune to elevate gang violence in Brooklyn. Sheff G became a prominent member of this gang and became central to our investigation. He encouraged gang members to participate in violent crimes.”

The District Attorney’s Office claims those indicted were involved in 27 acts of violence over the past four years. They used around 37 firearms, 19 of which have been recovered by law enforcement. Sleepy Hallow had only been released from jail in February after serving eight months on a weapons charge.
