Taxstone Sentenced To 35 Years For Fatal Shooting Of Troy Ave’s Bodyguard, Ronald ‘Banga’ McPhatter

Taxstone, a former popular podcaster got sentenced today (June 20) for his role in a 2016 shooting.

He’s sentenced to 35 years behind bars for shooting and killing Troy Ave’s bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, at Irving Plaza during a T.I. concert. Shawn Setaro, a reporter who was present during the hearing for the Brooklyn native. 

Shawn also Tweeted a statement from Tax, saying, “Half the stuff that was told on the stand by Troy Ave is a complete lie to protect himself from going to jail.” It didn’t work in Taxstone’s favor, Complex reports the judge reminded him that he was “obviously” involved. 

In March, Taxstone was found guilty for the killing. A grand jury acquitted him of murder and attempted murder, but he was convicted of manslaughter along with three assault charges and two weapons charges.
