Tory Lanez Seeking Bail + To Be Released, Will Appear In Court

Tory Lanez will appear in court to fight against his 10-year prison sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

Legal affairs reporter, Meghann Cuniff shared the news online and says the hearing begins tomorrow (September 14) at 10:30 a.m. P.T. Tory filed a motion for bail. The Canadian rapper will ask LA County Judge David V. Herriford (who gave him his sentence in August), to be released.

In addition, the “Jokes On Me” singer is requesting to live with his wife and son in Los Angeles to work on music. His bail motion says he’ll stay sober if released.

HNHH points out, Cuniff spoke to Michael Freedman of The Freedman Firm, said a judge allowing that would be “rare.”

“Generally, to get bail pending appeal, you have to show a substantial likelihood of prevailing on appeal, which often means a substantial likelihood you can show error by the trial judge,” Freedman explained. He continued,

“So it’s pretty rare for a trial judge to find the defense can make this showing about the same judge’s own rulings, especially after the judge has already denied post-trial motions raising those same arguments.”

Last week, it was reported Tory turned down a 4-year plea deal ahead of his sentencing. He maintains he’s innocent.

We’ll have to wait and see what the judge says for the ruling.
