T-Boz and Chili gave fans an update about their Broadway play in the works.
The TLC members were at 90’s Con over the weekend (September 15-17), and during a panel, T-Boz revealed the news. Chili added, “The cool thing, we do have a lot of people that worked on ‘Hamilton‘ working with us for ours,” Vibe reports.
T-Boz also hinted that they’ll release new music for the play. It’s not clear what it’ll be about, but they first announced it in 2019. At the time, T-Boz said,
“We didn’t tell everything. We have so many stories to tell. We didn’t tell it all in the biopic we did with VH1. A lot of good stuff. It’s gonna be very emotional but a good ride.”
The ladies recently wrapped up their Hot Summer Nights Tour. TLC and dancehall star Shaggy headlined, with En Vogue and Sean Kingston as special guests.
T-Boz and Chili honored their missing piece, the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. A magazine revealed during one of the stops, that T-Boz also encouraged women before singing their classic, “Unpretty.” The singer reportedly said,
“Now this next song we’re about to sing is a song that’s near and dear to my heart because I wrote it from my heart. I wrote this song many years ago, but my words stand true to this day, especially with social media and people trying to be perfect, because nobody’s perfect.”
Their latest documentary, TLC Forever, aired in June. It was the first time the remaining members went in-depth about their careers. Lisa died in a horrible car accident while on a 30-day spiritual retreat in Honduras on April 25, 2002.
May she continue to rest peacefully. Left Eye forever.
