As previously reported by HOT 97, last week, Lil Kim made a bold claim about the profits of her long-awaited memoir, “The Queen Bee.”
During an Instagram Live session, the rap legend said that the presales are surpassing the Christian Bible while addressing the delay of her book. “My book has been done,” Kim began. “I’m going to write y’all a letter to tell y’all what’s going on, but it’s not really cool. But I don’t want to use this to talk about it. I really don’t. But just know it’s like that. It’s crazy.”
She continued, “When we post our presales, we be surpassing the Bible, and that’s crazy. The Bible, I don’t take that lightly, I already know that… It’s some crazy s**t going on behind the scenes. You have to be really careful when you deal with these book companies because they try to take advantage of you. You know, I’m a little Black woman.”
While Kim received a lot of backlash over this comparison, her one-time nemesis and fellow New York rapper Foxy Brown also jumped into the group chat. In her Instagram Story, Foxy wrote, “BIBLE” alongside a laughing face emoji. See related posts below.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Bible is currently the best-selling book of all time with reported figures surpassing the $5 billion mark.
