Songwriter and friend to Cassie, Tiffany Red, pens an open letter to Diddy.
In the letter, Tiffany reveals she is “traumatized” by Diddy and how he treated Cassie during the duration of their relationship. Red explains how she met Cassie and 2015 and helped her write songs for her second album, which never came out.
During Red and Cassie’s time working together, the two grew close. Red says Cassie often confided in her about her relationship with Diddy, and eventually met him at Cassie’s 29th surprise birthday party. Red says that Diddy wasn’t a “fan” of hers as she was Cassie’s confidant.
After the party, Cassie and her friends decided to go to a karaoke bar- which they were met by Diddy shortly after they arrived. Red says she noticed something was off, so she went out into the hallway and saw Diddy verbally obliterating Cassie in the corner. Tiffany says Cassie looked completely helpless. After their time at the karaoke bar, Cassie and her friends went back to ger apartment. Cassie was preparing to leave with Diddy, although she said multiple times she didn’t want to go. Red later learned they were going to a “freak off”, sex party, which was described in Cassie’s lawsuit.
“I am traumatized by you,” Red says in the letter. “Your abuse of power has inflicted ongoing harm on countless individuals, including myself, my friends, and my peers. It pains me to write this letter to you as a Black woman, but when will this cycle of abuse stop? It has to stop. “
