In 2010’s “Monster,” Nicki Minaj raps, “I think me, you, and Am’ should ménage Friday.” Ye revealed to Big Boy that he had attempted to arrange a ménage à trois with Nicki Minaj and then-girlfriend Amber Rose.
“So, we down doing Dark Fantasy and he in the studio,” reveals Ye. “I’m like, “Yo, Safaree, you think Nicki would let me and Amber hit? Like what she said?”‘
Ye recalled the attempt after Big Boy brought up Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend Safaree’s 2017 viral freestyle. Ye remembered asking Safaree for advice on achieving a threesome with Minaj, unbeknownst that Minaj and Safaree were dating.
“You know what’s so messed up like is like, we didn’t really know they was together,” said Ye. “This her man!’ causing the host to burst out in laughter. Kanye jokingly concluded, ‘Like, you gotta make these raps true.”
Safaree added validity to the revelation with a comment under DJ Akademik’s post. He wrote, “[six laughing emojis] Yea that happened.”
Nicki Minaj spoke about the recording process of “Monster” after denying sample clearance, which included Kanye West making her rewrite her verse five times. The RIAA has certified “Monster” 3x platinum.
Kanye West and Amber Rose dated from 2008 to 2010. In previous interviews, Rose accused West of cheating on her with Kim Kardashian. She alleged that Ye “bullied” her for years after the relationship.
In related news, Amber Rose told Jason Lee, host and former head of media for Ye, that Kanye West owes her approximately $20 million in compensation as an inspiration for making My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
