“This ain’t even everything I know / Don’t wake the demon up,” raps Drake to conclude the official diss track.
Drake released a new track on Saturday (April 13) in which he responded to all rivals and welcomed a rebuttal while previewing a snippet of a potential second diss track. DJ Whoo Kid premiered the official diss track that samples Mike Jones’ classic “Drop & Gimmie 50” after the leaked version of the song surfaced on social media.
When Drake’s sample leaked, the Houston legend received 300,000 streams for his classic song. “300,000 Plays out the Blue,” captioned Mike Jones on Instagram.
In the 3-minute and 55-second track, Drake is a one-man army as he shoots disses at Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Metro Boomin’, Future, The Weeknd, J. Cole, and Memphis Grizzles basketball star Ja Morant. 6 God talks about inviting Ross ex to his concert, Kendrick Lamar’s last album, The Weeknd’s sexuality, Metro Boomin’ and Future’s latest album assembling Drake’s enemies like the sinister six, giving his rivals their first #1s, and more.
To Kendrick, Drake raps: “Your last one bricked, you really not on shit / They make excuses for you ’cause they hate to see me lit / Pull your contract ’cause we gotta see the split,” then, “Like your label, boy, you in the scope right now / And you gon’ feel the aftermath of what I write down / I’m at the top of the mountain, so you tight now.”
For Rick Ross, Drizzy tells him to stay out of the beef: “I might take your latest girl and cuff her like I’m Ricky / Can’t believe he jumpin’ in, this n***a turnin’ fifty / Every song that made it on the chart, he got from Drizzy / Spend that lil’ check you got and stay up out my business.”
Drake on Metro Boomin’: “Metro, shut your ho ass up and make some drums, n***a.”
While The Weeknd said a leak from Drake was coming, Drizzy discredits Abel and his team with, “Claim the 6ix, and you boys ain’t even come from it / And when you boys got rich, you had to run from it / Cash blowin’ Abel bread, out here trickin’ (Out here trickin’) / Shit we do for bitches he doin’ for niggas (What the fuck?).”
Addressing J. Cole: “I don’t care what Cole think, that Dot shit was weak as fuck.”
Drake’s issues with Ja Morant are unknown, but he raps, “Ayy, shoutout to the hooper that be bustin’ out the griddy / We know why you mad, nigga, I ain’t even trippin’ / All that lil’ heartbroken Twitter shit for bitches.”
The Weeknd responded to Drake’s diss on his Instagram Story with a photo of himself laughing and eating popcorn. He captioned it with reference to his own lyrics from “All To Myself”: “They could never diss my brothers, baby (Future) / When they got leaks in the operation.”
Drake declares he will take them all on at once in his diss track and promises to drop his rivals one by one. Over the beat change, he raps:
“Teamin’ up with all of y’all, fallin’ like some dominoes / Bros turnin’ hoes, dog, like I ain’t got enough of those / I can’t wait to see how far you niggas get to reachin’ now /This the closest / thing you niggas gettin’ to a feature now.”
He concludes: “Backpedal gang ’cause a few of y’all been reachin’ out / Y’all drew the line, what the fuck we gotta speak about? / Get your fuckin’ head tapped, you niggas get to peekin’ out / You had a song for four years, drop that shit and shut your mouth.”
Akademiks, sampled in the song, loved Drake’s energy, telling his Livestream audience, “I don’t care what ya’ll n***as say. A+ for no sneak dissing. Calling n****a out by name. Chin checkin’em. Calling n***as out. That Jay-Z sh*t where you rappin’ hieroglyphics, I’m dissin’ but not saying your name. Is over.”
Rick Ross recorded himself laughing at the response in an Instagram Story.
50 Cent, one of the best beef rappers ever, shared his thoughts on the Drake diss like only 50 can do, immediately responding on Instagram with, “All you got smoked by a light-skinned Ni66a. LOL Y’ALL BETTER GET HIGH AS A MOTHER FVCKER AND COME UP WITH SOMETHING!”
