The apple doesn’t seem to fall too far from the tree with North West. The 10-year-old’s recent performance at the Hollywood Bowl earned her a standing ovation. On Friday (May 24), West performed at the popular Los Angeles venue. In honor of The Lion King’s upcoming anniversary, she performed “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.” Fans and family cheered her on, in particular her famous parents, Ye and Kim Kardashian, and siblings Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. Her grandmother Kris Jenner, aunt Kourtney Kardashian, and step-uncle Travis Barker were also in attendance.
Other performers included Heather Headley, Jason Weaver, Jennifer Hudson, and more. The two-night event included a rousing orchestra performance and featured songs from Elton John, who wrote on the film’s soundtrack. “Can You Feel The Love Tonight,” “Circle Of Life” and “Hakuna Matata,” were among the song selections.
Is North West Following In Her Father’s Footsteps?
Since her birth in June 2013, the young star has captivated the world. In 2015, she made her music debut with a small cameo for Ye’s “Only One” visual. More recently, she dropped off a verse on her dad’s track “Talking/Over Again” from Ye’s Vultures 1 collaboration with Ty Dolla Sign. Back in March, it was announced that she would be dropping her upcoming debut album, Elementary School Dropout. However, no release date has been announced.
Ye often beams with pride when he talks about his eldest daughter. In a recent interview with Big Boy, her said that his mother, Donda West, “speaks through her. “I remember sitting with North in Italy and playing her ‘Back to Me,’ and asking her, ‘What do you think about this line in the middle of the song?’” West said at the 15:00 minute mark. “And I was like, ‘Do you think I should change this?’ And she’s like, ‘You know, it’s a good song.’ Sometimes I feel like my mom speaks through her.”
