Remy Ma has given fans more reason to believe that she and Papoose are no longer together by reverting to her maiden name, Remy Kioni Smith. This change follows months of speculation about their separation. Fans noticed the new name in the credits for Remy’s recent single with Fat Joe, “Outta Control,” which was released last week. Her previous release, “Ghetto & Ratchet (Remix)” with Connie Diamond from last year, listed her as Remy Mackie.
Neither Remy Ma nor Papoose has commented publicly on their relationship status. However, there have been rumors that Remy was involved with battle rapper Eazy The Block Captain. These rumors surfaced last summer when it was reported that Papoose confronted Eazy at a Chrome 23 rap battle, allegedly knocking him out for getting “too cozy” with Remy. A witness claimed, “I see Papoose, and it was kind of like an aggressive motion, and Papoose swings. The next thing I know, Eazy was on the floor, and it was a lot of commotion. And people were running out of the room. Remy came in, and her security came behind her. And then they closed the door and they were arguing.”
Despite these rumors and her going back to her maiden name, Remy Ma denied them at the time, tweeting: “I’d like to apologize to everyone that was disappointed tonight because we couldn’t get 3 full rounds from all the opponents… I tried… and can y’all pleasee STOP with the Eazy & Pap LIES. There’s NO place like Chrome! Right back at it; see y’all in August #Chrome23.” Yet, Remy and Eazy have been seen together several times since then, including at a Philadelphia Eagles game and on what appeared to be a date.
Remy and Papoose were last seen together in March at Papoose’s 46th birthday party. However, fans noticed that Remy’s body language seemed frosty, suggesting they were not on the best terms.
