Kamala Harris’ recent rally in Atlanta, Georgia, featured notable hip-hop performances, including sets by Megan Thee Stallion and Quavo, along with Kendrick Lamar’s track “Not Like Us.” This choice has elicited varied responses online. While the crowd at the event seemed excited by the song, social media reactions have been less favorable. One critic on X (formerly Twitter) commented, “She literally is the most cringe nominee ever it’s not even close.” Another user humorously compared the moment to a past political blunder, saying, “hilarious timeline: the world where Not Like Us becomes 1996 Macarena.”

Despite the criticism, footage from the rally shows fans engaging with the music and enjoying the event. Megan Thee Stallion’s performance also added energy to the night. She encouraged the audience with her statement: “Now I know my ladies in the crowd love their bodies. If you want to keep loving your bodies, you know who to vote for.”

Quavo addressed gun violence, a personal issue following the death of his Migos partner, Takeoff. He shared, “One of these issues that I care about is resolving the gun violence issues.” Quavo praised Harris for her commitment to the cause, noting, “You can’t understand the struggle of gun violence if you’re not in the field or in the heart of it. So, one thing I learned from working with Vice President Harris is she always stands on business. From inviting me to the White House last year to discuss these solutions, to passing the biggest gun safety laws today.”
