Mariah Carey spills the details on what fans can look forward to from her eagerly awaited Las Vegas residency.

Speaking exclusively with Entertainment Tonight, the “We Belond Together” singer reflected on the success of her residency, The Celebration of Mimi, currently at Dolby Live inside the Park MGM Hotel, and shared what fans can expect as the show continues into the new year.

“It’s a really good time. We’re doing The Celebration of Mimi and you know all about the Emancipation of Mimi and that album and there’s also other songs we do,” she began. “But this is really about, you know, The Celebration of Mimi.”

Originally set for just two stretches, it now includes eight additional shows in January and February 2025. Carey, known for her killer Christmas jams and past Vegas stints, describes this residency as particularly special, thanks to its deep personal connection and unique inspirations. From intimate details to unforgettable costumes, fans can expect a show that hits all the high notes. It’s not just a concert—it’s a celebration of Mimi like never before!

“I was telling a story and we do have a lot of deep cuts that are featured,” she added. “Especially since it’s — the whole thing is about The Emancipation of Mimi, by the time we get there, a lot of people didn’t maybe know all those songs, you know? People know ‘We Belong Together.’”

Meanwhile, as her char-topping album The Emancipation of Mimi nears its 20th anniversary, Mariah is also reminiscing and celebrating with her fans.

“It definitely brings back fond memories depending on the song. And with this show, we have a lot of kind of clips from my book that you can read if you’re sitting in the audience,” she said. “It’s a moment where you’re hearing your life story be talked about and then you’re singing the songs.”

Released in 2005, The Emancipation of Mimi—boasting hits like “Shake It Off,” “It’s Like That,” and “Don’t Forget About Us”—was hailed as Mariah Carey’s comeback album. Its massive success earned it eight nominations at the 48th Grammy Awards, where it took home three trophies.
