Jay-Z is gearing up to relaunch his legendary 40/40 Club at a brand-new spot in New York City.

On Thursday (August 15), Us Weekly reported that Jay-Z and his crew are on a mission to breathe new life into the legendary 40/40 Club – ready to give this hotspot a major glow-up.

“It’s always been the plan to open a new spot,”said 40/40 Club vice president of operations Sheldon Robinson. “Finding the right location that makes sense to the brand is key, and that takes some time. We’ve narrowed it down to our last few choices and now we’re in the negotiation phase.”

Robinson added, “Hopefully by the end of this year we’ll have a lease signed and we can break ground. The idea is that we’ll have a club in 2025.”

The buzz comes right after Jay-Z’s thrilling new collab with Michael Rubin for Fanatics Fest 2024, promising a reimagined club experience. In July, the digital sports platform announced that Jay-Z’s iconic 40/40 Club will be reborn as an exclusive lounge in partnership with Fanatics Sportsbook at Fanatics Fest NYC.

From August 16-18 at the Javits Center in New York City, Fanatics Fest NYC is set to offer a sports bar experience dripping with luxury. Expect framed jerseys, grand chandeliers, stadium seating, bespoke cocktails, and delectable small bites inspired by the original 40/40 Club menu – the ultimate fusion of sports and sophistication.

According to TMZ, this VIP lounge is going to be an exclusive affair for a select list of athletes, celebrities, and Fanatics Sportsbook VIPs. So, if you’re not on the list, better luck next year!

In 2003, Jay-Z opened the doors to The 40/40 Club in New York City’s Flatiron District, a name inspired by baseball’s elite 40-40 club — those rare players who hit 40 home runs and stole 40 bases in a single season. Fast forward to 2023, and after 20 iconic years, the club faced its final curtain call.
