After celebrating Confessions, his diamond-selling album, at Essence Fest, Usher announced the release of the record’s 20th anniversary edition, including new music.
This classic was released in 2004 and includes chart-topping hits like “Yeah,” “My Boo,” and many more. It was announced that pre-orders would be available for the digital and physical anniversary items.
The anniversary edition will feature all 19 original tracks, along with orchestral remixes of fan favorites “Superstar” and “Burn.” Additionally, the expanded version of the album will include “Seduction” and “Confessions, Pt. II (Remix),” which features contributions from Twista, Shyne, Kanye West, and Jermaine Dupri.
The special vinyl edition of Confessions (20th Anniversary Edition) is set to ship on November 1, with digital streaming platforms (DSPs) releasing the album on the same day.
Usher’s anniversary announcement coincides with the global theatrical release of USHER: RENDEZVOUS IN PARIS, a film that will be shown from September 12 to September 15, with around 1,000 screenings in the U.S. alone.
In an interview with PEOPLE in February, Usher shared, “There is a great deal of truth in that album. Did I have a relationship that was exactly what I was saying? Yeah, I did, but the reality of where it landed and what that was about wasn’t in the exact order or moment when I delivered the song.”
In February, Confessions was certified platinum for the 14th time, cementing its place in R&B history. Usher even performed these standout tracks during Super Bowl LVIII with Jermaine Dupri, who produced the album.
The singer is also currently on the road with his “PAST PRESENT FUTURE TOUR,” performing at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena on September 13 and 14. Usher will conclude the month with additional tour stops in Denver, Los Angeles, and Oakland.
