Eve is gearing up for the release of her memoir, “Who’s That Girl?”, tomorrow, Tuesday, September 17th, and it’s already creating a buzz. In a recent interview with The Times, she reflected on her struggles with misogyny in the music industry, a theme she dives into in the book. One notable memory she shared was from the day her debut album *Let There Be Eve… The Ruff Ryders’ First Lady* dropped in 1999. The album sold an impressive 213,000 copies in its first week and has since crossed 2 million in sales. Eve revealed that Jay-Z called her to offer congratulations but also advised her to lower her expectations, stating that “female rappers don’t really do that well.”

This story comes at an interesting time, as Nicki Minaj recently called out the Super Bowl halftime show organizers for selecting Kendrick Lamar over Lil Wayne for the New Orleans performance. Fans have been debating the choice, and Eve’s experience offers fresh insight into the ongoing conversation about the treatment of female rappers in the industry.

Eve’s success, however, speaks for itself. Not only has she conquered the music world, but she has also made her mark in film, television, and philanthropy. Adding to her long list of achievements, she recently announced that she will serve as a Scholar-In-Residence at NYU’s Steinhardt School for the 2024-25 academic year. Dean Jack H. Knott expressed his excitement, noting that her career and experience will greatly benefit the students.

On social media, Eve shared her joy over the opportunity. “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I am thrilled to announce I will be joining the 2024-25 Scholar-in-Residence at NYU. I look forward to connecting with the NYU community and showing more of who I am beyond music.”
