Meagan Good opens up about how being pretty has been hindered her in her career.

The Jasmine Brand reports, that while on Raven-Symoné and her wife Miranda Maday’s podcast, Good expresses, “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked into something and I’ve had an audition and they were like ‘She was great but we just don’t realistically believe her as this character because she’s a pretty girl.’And I’m like, how can you determine what that character should look like or even what I will look like when I [take the role.]”

Good goes on to say that a “leading man” was casted in a role, and she would be passed up about being “he doesn’t look like he could get her.”

“That’s doing the character a disservice because that means you’re just saying she’s just only about the look.”

She, however, says she is simply blessed regardless. “At the end of the day, there’s no complaints. My life has been incredible, and I’m thankful for everything exactly as it is, all things included.”

Aside from her bubbling career, Good as been in love with her beau, Jonathan Majors.

During a previous interview with TODAY, Good opened up about her friends and family’s opinion on Majors. “I take everyone’s opinion and advice into account, for sure, but at the end of the day, I’m the one who has to live my life,” Meagan admitted.

“I’m the one who has to get to Heaven one day, prayerfully, and give God an account of what I did. So, I want to be responsible for the choices that I make. I also want to live the life that I want to live.”

She continued: “At the end of the day, one thing I know is that I can always look myself in the mirror when I trust my spirit when I trust God, when I ask God, when I move to the beat of my own drum — I can always look and say, ‘I’m proud of that,’” she explained. “Whatever happens, I have peace in my heart and I have harmony in my heart.”
