A Houston lawyer announced that Diddy is set to face a wave of new sexual assault lawsuits, including claims from over two dozen individuals who allege they were minors at the time. Attorney Tony Buzbee announced plans at a Tuesday press conference (October 1st), according to NBC News, to file civil lawsuits against the embattled mogul and several others, alleging a range of offenses. Buzbee stated, “We will expose the enablers who enabled this conduct behind closed doors. We will pursue this matter no matter who the evidence implicates.”

The lawyer continued, “Many powerful people … many dirty secrets.” Additionally, his legal team claims to have “collected pictures, video, texts.” Buzbee noted that the lawsuits will encompass allegations including “violent sexual assault or rape, facilitated sex with a controlled substance, dissemination of video recordings, sexual abuse of minors.” He added, “It’s a long list already, but because of the nature of this case, we are going to make sure, damn sure, we are right before we do that,” “These names will shock you.”

The attorney announced that over 3,000 people have contacted his office with allegations against the mogul, with plans to start filing lawsuits across multiple states in the next 30 days. He noted that additional defendants will be named later. Buzbee revealed that 62% of the new accusers were African American, spanning over 25 states, with most from New York, California, Georgia, and Florida. He stated that 25 were minors during the alleged incidents, some dating back to 1991, and one was reportedly as young as 9 years old.

Diddy’s attorney, Erica Wolff, stated, “As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasized, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus. That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors.” She continued, “He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court if and when claims are filed and served, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.” Combs is being held at Metropolitan Detention Center following federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and facilitating prostitution. The mogul pleaded not guilty after Southern District prosecutors unsealed the indictment, and his legal team adamantly maintained his innocence.

After being denied bail twice, Diddy’s defense team—now including attorney Alexandra Shapiro alongside Teny Geragos and Marc Agnifilo—submitted an initial appeal on Monday challenging the decision.
