The popularity of Taylor Swift has surged since her public endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris, despite Donald Trump‘s prediction that she would “pay a price in the marketplace” for her political stance.

Since Taylor Swift’s announcement on September 10, her Spotify following has grown by 1.85 million, reaching 122.56 million by October 3, according to Chartmetric. This puts Swift just behind Indian artist Arijit Singh in Spotify followers.

While some Trump supporters point to a 3% decline in her monthly listeners—down to 91.4 million from a peak of 116 million in May—this decrease aligns with a return to normal levels after the release of her album The Tortured Poets Department in April 2024. Historical data from Songstats confirms that Swift’s current monthly listener count remains higher than her averages in previous years.

Meanwhile, Swift has seen boosts in other areas as well. Her Instagram following has grown by 260,000 since the endorsement, bringing her total to 283.9 million. She has also gained 200,000 new YouTube subscribers, reaching 60.1 million, with her video views up 0.7% in the past 30 days, according to Social Blade.

Taylor Swift endorsed Harris after the vice president’s debate victory over Trump. Through her Instagram Story, Swift linked to Vote.gov, driving over 400,000 visits to the voter registration site in just 24 hours.

Trump’s response was swift and pointed—he declared on Fox & Friends that he “was not a Taylor Swift fan” and predicted consequences for her in the marketplace. Yet, Swift’s metrics continue to prove otherwise.

Others endorsing Kamala Harris’ historic campaign include Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, and the Obamas. Harris, the Democratic nominee, will attempt to become the first woman President of the United States this November.
