Karl Anthony Towns is officially a New York Knick.

In a three-team, blockbuster trade Towns was shipped to New York in exchange for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo who now play for the Minnesota Timberwolves.  The 7 ‘0 ft center is looking to be the final piece to bring the Knicks its first championship since 1973.

With Towns at the center position, the Knicks now have one the most formidable starting lineups with Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, and OG Anunoby, a

When asked what his feelings were about the trade on Thursday (October 3), Towns honestly expressed his feelings.

“Shocked,” Towns explained. “Maybe the word flabbergasted is more correct but shocked.”

A native of Piscataway, New Jersey, Towns also shared that he is excited to be closer to his family and said he is grateful for his nine-year tenure in Minneapolis, who drafted him with the first pick in 2015.

Karl Speaks:

“I’m super thankful for the nine years I had in Minnesota. It’s amazing to be accepted into the community, and for nine years in the Minnesota community, thank you for allowing me to inspire positivity and change there, and to all the amazing teammates I had and coaches and front offices that I’ve been a part, I’m tremendously thankful for the opportunity to play basketball there,” Towns said.

“I’m excited to be playing here, and I can’t wait to start,” he added.

Not that the trade is official, Towns has plenty of old acquaintances in the Knicks organization.  He played for Tom Thibodeau, who coached him for 2 ½ seasons in Minnesota. Leon Rose,  President of the Knicks, and William Wesley, a friend of the Towns family, have deep connections with the Kentucky Wildcats program, KAT’s alma mater.

Along with his new team, Towns and his partner Jordyn Woods recently purchased a stunning $14 million home.

According to reports, the 11,000-square-foot mansion in Calabasas “sits on over two acres of land and boasts seven bedrooms and 17 bathrooms.”

The estate is also tight down the street from Woods’ longtime friend, Kylie Jenner.
