Young Thug’s trial continues to unfold as Judge Paige Whitaker works through various evidentiary issues in the high-profile YSL RICO case. During a recent hearing, Whitaker challenged the prosecution’s interpretation of a social media post where Thug mentioned “chasing that money.” The prosecution suggested that the Instagram caption had relevance to their case, implying it could link him to illegal activities.

However, Judge Whitaker wasn’t convinced. “What suggests that he is doing anything illegal by chasing that money?” she asked. “Isn’t that what pretty much all of us who aren’t independently wealthy have to do every day of our lives?” The prosecution clarified that while they weren’t certain what the post meant, they believed it supported their broader allegations against Young Thug and his connection to YSL.

The judge pressed further, asking, “How is the language representing YSL?” and expressing doubt, adding, “It really doesn’t seem to say that.” Fans on social media quickly reacted to the viral caption of the exchange, which was shared by legal journalist Meghann Cuniff. One fan joked, “She said we ain’t all wealthy as all gotta chase the money,” while another remarked, “She’s over this case like everyone else is.”

Amidst the legal turmoil, Thug recently received a visit from his longtime girlfriend, Mariah The Scientist. The two tried to celebrate their third anniversary earlier this week, despite the difficult circumstances. Mariah’s visit follows her ongoing support for Thug as he faces serious charges, highlighting the personal side of the case as the trial moves forward.
