In a new interview, DaBaby addresses the ongoing $4 million lawsuit filed by Brandon Bills, the brother of the rapper’s baby mother, DaniLeigh

Brandon Bills claims DaBaby assaulted him during a 2022 altercation at a bowling alley. A video for the altercation, which included Bills and the rapper, went viral then. Immediately after the altercation, Bills filed a lawsuit against DaBaby and spent some time serving him.

As DaBaby talked with Bootleg Kev, he seemed unfazed by the lawsuit. Upon being asked about the dispute, the “Rockstar” hitmaker replied casually, “I don’t know nothing about it, man.”

When Kev pointed out that Brandon had threatened him online before confronting him in person, DaBaby quickly retorted, “I don’t see that going well for the man.”

DaBaby maintains he acted in self-defense and is confident the lawsuit will backfire on Bills, forcing him to cover attorney fees. “Threatening me on camera with all the platforms out there—doesn’t make sense,” he said. “You’re gonna have to pay those lawyer fees, my boy. They ain’t making me pay.”

He added with certainty, “That’s gonna be the easiest case I’ve ever had to beat.”

Bills are reportedly seeking $2 million in general damages and another $2 million in special damages, claiming the attack left him with “severe injuries, psychological harm, and hefty medical bills.”

In 2022, DaBaby’s attorney, Drew Findling, dismissed the lawsuit, calling it a blatant attempt to exploit the situation for financial gain. “It’s offensive that this individual, who instigated the confrontation, is now trying to make a quick money grab,” Findling said. “Garbage like this doesn’t belong in the legal system—it’s a waste of time and resources.”

DaBaby seems confident that, in the end, the case will prove to be nothing more than a legal footnote in his career.
