The Weeknd has once again shattered his own record as the artist with the most monthly listeners on Spotify, amassing over 120.5 million.

He became the first artist to surpass 100 million listeners in February 2023 and has held the top ever since, with only a brief interruption. Taylor Swift recently joined him as the only other artist to reach over 100 million listeners, while Billie Eilish is quickly catching up.

This achievement comes on the heels of The Weeknd’s latest release, “Timeless,” featuring Playboi Carti and produced by Pharrell. The track has made an impressive debut, entering the Billboard Hot 100 at #3—his highest first-week position.

“Timeless” also marks his 19th Top 10 hit, while it’s Carti’s fifth. The duo first premiered the song in Brazil last month before its official release on streaming platforms on September 27, where it garnered over 10 million streams within the first day alone.

Adding to his momentum, The Weeknd recently dropped the fan-favorite “Dancing in the Flames,” a standout track from his highly anticipated album Hurry Up Tomorrow, now available on vinyl and CD.

In another career-defining moment, The Weeknd delivered a sold-out stadium performance in São Paulo, Brazil, live-streamed exclusively on YouTube. Millions of fans tuned in to witness his dynamic stage presence and signature sound, with surprise appearances by Playboi Carti and Anitta. The performance trended as the #1 music event in the U.S. and 24 other countries, reinforcing his status as a global music icon.

In a notable philanthropic effort, 10% of net proceeds from all merchandise sales at the São Paulo concert and online were donated to the Brazilian Soul Fund of Brazil Foundation. The initiative supports communities in southern Brazil impacted by natural disasters and economic challenges.

Hurry Up Tomorrow is the third and final chapter in a trilogy that began with After Hours (2020) and continued with Dawn FM (2022). It caps off a transformative era in The Weeknd’s storied career.
