Shaboozey is still number one.

Billboard reports that “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is number one on the Hot 100  for the 14th week. He’s now tied for the second-longest run ever by a solo artist in the history of the chart. Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” holds the record for 19 weeks in 2019.

On the Hot Country Songs chart, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has been number one for 18 consecutive weeks. He also broke the record for most weeks atop the Billboard Canadian Hot 100.

While he is a lover of all genres, Shaboozey “found country to be the thing that resonated with me in a really strong way.”

“Me being from Virginia, me loving the style and the way of life and the things they talked about … it all seemed very peaceful. It seemed like I could be real,” Shaboozey shared in an interview with Billboard.

“I found country music could teach people that the little things in life are where the value is,” he continued. “Just having a working truck that you can take your girl in to ride to a cliff and watch the sunset is enough.”

Shaboozey was also named to Time Magazine’s “Time 100 Next 2024.

Fellow country music star Jelly Roll shared his admiration for Shaboozey’s impact on the genre.

“As a native Nashvillian, I’m proud to have Shaboozey represent country music. He’s celebrated for many reasons, his talent being an obvious one. His work ethic is another: I saw one time he went and did a one-off in Cannes between shows in California and Miami,” Jelly Roll wrote in his tribute.
