Ice Cube and Fat Joe will be performing during the 2024 World Series.
As the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the New York Yankees, both rap legends will perform in their respective hometowns. Cube will take the stage at game two in Los Angeles on Saturday (Oct. 26) and Joe will perform at The Bronx for Monday’s (Oct. 28) game three.
Cube and Joe’s performances will follow the National Anthem each night and air FOX Sports’ exclusive coverage.
In an official announcement, Major League Baseball made the announcement.
“(Ice Cube and Fat Joe are lifelong fans of their hometown teams. They are excited for the opportunity to get their fans ready for this year’s World Series matchup,” MLB said in a statement. “The performances will take place following the national anthem each night and will be shown during Fox Sports’ exclusive pregame coverage.”
During the playoffs, the MLB have been highlighting the storied music traditions of “The Big Apple” and “The City of Angels.” In the promotion of the World Series, the league paid tribute to JAY-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind.” Addtionaly, Tupac Shakur and Dr. Dre’s “California Love” has also been featured in the spot
This isn’t the first time Cube and Joe have been on the same stage. The “Don Mega” and “Joey Crack” performed at Yankee Stadium with Hip-Hop 50 Live.
The MLB’s “Empire State of California Love” campaign, features a 30-second video spot starring Yankees stars Aaron Judge, Juan Soto Dodgers stars Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani.
Both Ice Cube and Fat Joe have more than 30 years in the game and are not slowing down. Cube is fresh off another season as CEO of The Big Three and dropped his new song “It’s My Ego” on Friday (Oct.25).
Joe recently was the host of the BET Awards and has his own show on Starz titled “Fat Joe Talks.”
