According to reports, Diddy‘s legal team has urged the court to swiftly block public statements from potential witnesses and their lawyers. They contend that unchecked media exposure threatens the mogul’s right to an impartial trial. Per Sunday’s court filings, Diddy’s attorneys urge Judge Arun Subramanian to act swiftly, citing potential statements as grounds for an immediate gag order.

His defense team stated, “Over the past several days, a grand jury witness and his attorney have given multiple interviews – including outside the courthouse immediately following his apparent grand jury testimony – making false and outrageous claims, including that the witness possesses videos of [Diddy] involved in the sexual assault of celebrities and minors.”

“This grand jury witness claims that he was subpoenaed after he made public statements on social media that he possessed videos of celebrities, including minors, being sexually assaulted. The subpoena also comes on the heels of his attorney’s statements that she had been asked to ‘shop a particular video’ and contact a celebrity ‘in the video to see if they were interested in purchasing the video before it became public knowledge.’”

In a recent filing, Diddy’s lawyers addressed allegations raised by Courtney Burgess, whose recent interviews have garnered significant media attention. The defense argued that these claims have fueled a misleading belief that such videos exist, which they say is inaccurate. Additionally, they assert that the government’s approach to these statements is undermining their client’s right to a “fair trial” following his September arrest on sex-trafficking and racketeering charges.

Diddy’s attorneys said, “By treating these ridiculous claims as anything but a pathetic extortion scheme, the government is fueling the fire of online conspiracy theories and making it impossible for [Diddy] to have a fair trial.”

A September indictment unsealed charges against Diddy, alleging racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking involving force and coercion. If convicted, he faces potential life sentences on both counts, despite his not guilty plea. With Diddy still in custody, his family—Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, Jessie, and D’Lila—publicly expressed unwavering support, announcing their solidarity last month. In an Instagram post, they stated, “We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family.” “We miss you and love you, Dad.”
