Rapper Ye, formerly Kanye West, is accused of choking a model with both hands during the filming of La Roux’s 2010 “In for the Kill” music video, according to a federal lawsuit filed Friday and reports.

Jennifer An, a former finalist on Season 13 of America’s Next Top Model, alleges the incident occurred after Ye directed her and other models to line up in a hallway on set. According to the complaint, he selected her by pointing and stating, “Give me the Asian girl.” The lawsuit describes Ye gripping the model’s neck with both hands and forcing his fingers into her throat while shouting, “This is art. This is (expletive art). I’m Picasso.”

The filing states that he directed the cameras to record the incident, leaving the model distressed and feeling abandoned despite the crowded set.

Filed in New York’s Southern District, the lawsuit accuses Universal Music Group of fostering a work environment rife with sexual misconduct and shielding the alleged assault through a broader culture of secrecy. The suit claims that UMG “promoted/perpetuated a culture rampant with sexual harassment and assault by continuing to work with male artists who are known to sexually abuse women.”

Moreover, the complaint details how La Roux, the English pop duo linked to the video, privately described witnessing “upsetting, unsettling” behavior on set. Weeks later, Ye allegedly demanded a written apology from the group.

This week’s filing adds to the growing lists of lawsuits targeting Ye, with accusations ranging from sexual abuse to inappropriate conduct.

Earlier this year, in October, a lawsuit was filed accusing Ye of exploiting his celebrity to secretly monitor his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and current-partner, Bianca Censori. Additional legal action claims he drugged and sexually assaulted a former assistant during a studio session with Diddy, who is also facing multiple sexual assault allegations. Other lawsuits against Ye point to a troubling history of antisemitic actions.
