Brandy Norwood is receiving her well-deserved flowers.
The legendary R&B singer and acclaimed actress will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. On February 11, 2025, the ceremony will be held to honor her enormous contributions to the world of entertainment.
Bursting on the scene in 1994 with her self-titled debut album, she eventually sold six million copies worldwide. Her sophomore Never Say Never (1998), sold 16 million copies worldwide. She would go on to release Full Moon (2002) Afrodisiac (2004), and Human (2008) just to name a few. To date, she has sold 40 million records worldwide, She’s hailed as one of the greatest vocalists of all time.
As an actress, Brady starred in the iconic UPN sitcom Moesha. Also, she starred in the television film Cinderella (1997) and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998).
Ellen K., Chair of the Walk of Fame, shared in a statement her excitement about the 2025 class of honorees.
“The Selection Committee, which is made up of fellow Walk of Famers, carefully hand-picks a group of honorees each year that represent various genres of the entertainment world,” said Ellen K, “The Committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people. We can’t wait to see each honoree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway!”
Along with Brady in the Recording category, music icons Toni Braxton, Def Leppard, and Gwen Stefani will all receive stars this year.
At the time of the announcement, Sonja Norwood, Brandy’s mother, expressed her excitement about the honor on Instagram.
“My daughter, Brandy will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2024. ❤️😊💯😥🎁🎈🎀🙌🎊 So proud of her as a person, her work ethic, and her drive to turn a dream into reality,” she wrote. “And just to think, I’ve been a part of her career from day 1! Till the day shall dawn. Love you, Bran, ❤️💯!”
Along with the star on the Walk of Fame, Brany also announced the release of her forthcoming memoir.
“Writing my memoir was one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my life,” Brandy said. “For the first time, I am sharing my story—honest, unfiltered, and not through the lens of media or critics.”
“This memoir is more than a book. It’s a reflection of resilience, hope, and rediscovering myself beyond the fame, the music, and the spotlight,” Brandy continued. “I hope my words bring inspiration as you navigate your own journey.”
