Pete Rock plans to sue Nas for unpaid royalties.
Pete Rock is the procured of Nas’ debut album, Illmatic. Rock claims that he hasn’t been paid for the 1994 album. Rock says, “Nas and his people have stonewalled me since 1994; My New Year’s resolution is to be compensated for my hard work on “Illmatic.”
According to the reports, Rock and his lawyers are focusing on “The World Is Yours” track from the album, which he has production credits for. The lawsuit also states that legendary rapper signed a contract that promised the producer “a portion of the proceeds from the song.” Rock also co-wrote the song with Nas.
