Tina Knowles-Lawson praises Method Man for being a “real man.”
The rapper admitted on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast that he considered the legendary girl group “standoffish” during Janet Jackson’s MTV Icon special.
During the conversation, he said he saw Beyoncé, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland and, “you know, I kind of moseyed out of my seat to go and say what’s up to them.” He continued, “I go over to say ‘hi’ to them, and when I said ‘hi,’ they didn’t even turn around and acknowledge me. Now, my a*s in my head with my low self-esteem is like, ‘Oh, they just s**ted on me.’ When in fact, they didn’t even hear me.”
Method pointed out he was dealing with insecurities at the time. Tina saluted the Power actor for taking accountability. She said on Instagram, “Thank you, Method Man. It takes a real man to tell this story! Such a great example for other young men (red heart emoji). . Don’t assume someone is dissing you !”
