On Saturday (Nov. 12), rapper BIA took to social media to put internet trolls on blast for instigating rap beefs.
“I think a lot of artists wouldn’t have problems if it wasn’t for trolls instigating imaginary beefs,” the “London” hitmaker tweeted. In a follow-up tweet, she continued, “Rap should be competitive, it should be a sport, talk your s**t… but people be trying to make s**t apply to people it don’t even be about and that’s lame.”
The former “Sisterhood of Hip Hop” star then had to set the record straight when a Twitter user claimed that BIA sneak dissed fellow rapper Nicki Minaj in the past. “It was fake tweets from a Stan that didn’t like me … that narrative is tired let’s find something else to talk about,” she responded.
Last summer, Nicki Minaj hopped on the remix to BIA’s hit single “Whole Lotta Money,” which ended up being certified platinum. The original song was released as the fifth single off BIA’s second EP FOR CERTAIN. The remix pushed the single onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 16. “I love you @NICKIMINAJ I know you didn’t have to and you did and you will always have my heart for that. Nothing will ever change that. Thank you,” BIA penned to Nicki Minaj on Twitter.
Speaking on the experience, BIA also added that working with the “Super Freaky Girl” hitmaker was a “bucket list moment” for her. “I really got the opportunity to bond and write with Nicki man my heart is so full right now this is a bucket list moment. So iconic. So timeless… this s**t is crazy God is so good,” she continued.
A few months ago, BIA also hopped on Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl (Queen Mix)” alongside JT from City Girls, Akbar V, Maliibu Mitch, and Katie Got Bandz.
