J. Cole showed major love to Colin Kaepernick.
Cole acknowledged that Colin had been committed to training for the NFL even though his last pro football game was in 2016. This was the same year Kap started kneeling during the national anthem to protest racial injustice. Since then, Kaepernick hasn’t been back on the NFL field, even though they claim they encouraged teams to look at Kaepernick.
J. Cole wanted to take a moment to honor Colin for all of his hard work throughout the years. In a beautiful post, Cole said, “Y’all musta forgot” in my @royjonesjrofficial voice.” He continued, “[Kap], Imagine 5 straight years spent waking up every day to train at 5am, staying ready in hopes that some team would reach out with an opportunity, no matter how impossible that sounded most days. He probably finishing up today’s workout as I type this right now. I see you bro, and I know God is with you. I pray the day soon comes when you get to play the game you love at the highest level again. I believe. And I haven’t forgot. RESPECT.”

A couple of years ago, Colin got an opportunity to showcase his talents in front of NFL teams, but he hasn’t been signed yet. A few weeks ago, Spike Lee announced he’s teaming up with ESPN to direct a multipart documentary on Colin Kaepernick. It’ll feature exclusive interviews with the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback and access to his personal archive, ESPN reports. Fans will get to see never-before-seen footage from Kaepernick’s archive to provide “a full, first-person account of his journey.” No title or release date as of yet. We’ll keep you posted.
