Lil Wayne is keeping it super real with fans.

In a recent interview, he shared stories about his struggle with mental health and a suicide attempt.

During Wayne’s sit down with Emmanuel Acho on his series Uncomfortable Conversations, Weezy said he first started dealing with mental health issues as a young kid. He said, “As a kid, around 10, when I was told I couldn’t have what I wanted, what I dreamed of and what I desired, and that was to rap. I was willing to die for it.”

Hot New Hip Hop points out that when Wayne was 12, his mom found out he was lying about school. Wayne wanted to avoid getting in trouble, so he found his mom’s gun before she got home. He held it to his chest and pulled the trigger, thankfully it wasn’t loaded, but he said he fainted from the shock.

Wayne opened up about his mental health and suicide attempt back in 2016 on the song “Mad” by Solange.
