Nipsey Hussle’s family has to deal with a legal situation with the Crips LLC over trademark issues.
Last year after Nipsey Hussle was killed, the Crips organization filed trademarks for “the marathon continues” phrase, coined by Nipsey. However, the Crips were unsuccessful since Nipsey already had it trademarked. So the Crips later apologized to Nipsey’s family and said they wouldn’t get into a legal battle over the trademark.
TMZ reports “the Crips didn’t fight the opposition to the clothing trademark application by the deadline, so the application was deemed abandoned earlier this month.” But now the Crips have gone silent about the matter, which is causing the family to think funny business is going on behind their back. They are also holding up the process by not communicating with Nipsey’s family, causing the situation to linger on.
Hopefully, the Crips and Nipsey’s family can settle everything!
Congratulations to DJ Khaled, Nipsey Hussle and John Legend, they won video of the year at the 2020 BET Awards.
