The global pandemic has prompted officials to release some people in jail and today Tekashi 69 got out!
A judge has approved the Brooklyn rapper’s request to be released from prison! He’ll be placed on home confinement until his released date of August 2 but a new projected date could be July 31, according to the rapper’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro.
The reason for his release is because, “Mr. Hernandez does not pose a danger to the community,” according to the court order. He will serve the first four months of supervised release on house arrest, and he’ll be forced to wear an ankle monitor at an address approved by his probation officer.
According to reports, he was released earlier in the day, but it was not announced until he arrived to his location securely.
Back in December, Tekashi was sentenced to 24 months in prison plus five years of supervised release for racketeering and firearms charges. In November 2019, he had served time for a 2018 crime, so he only had to serve 11 more months.
He also has to complete 300 hours of community service and pay a $35,000 fine.
