It was a special (and scorching hot day) – no pun intended – as we hosted Summer Jam at Met Life Stadium in the Meadlowlands!

At 3PM EST, the gates opened in Festival Village as fans rushed in to get a good view of the New York heavy line up!

Shani Kulture opened up the show as he introduced Kevin Liles Verizon Freestyle contest winner and the Who’s Next contest winner.

It didn’t end there! Fans continued to fill up the festival lot as the weather got warmer. Casanova brought his Brooklyn swag to the stage while D.R.A.M. serenaded the crowd.

As the crowd chanted for water Lil’ Yachty threw water onto the stage before Dave East brought bars.

One of the biggest highlights of the festival was when former Hot 97 music director Karlie Hustle surprisingly got proposed to on the stage.

We weren’t done there as Young M.A gave a screaming crowd a show as they sang every lyric.

As tired as the crowd was, they still had enough energy to vibe with Boogie alongside Don Q who helped brought the hits on stage

And that was just the first part.

Hold up wait a minute … you thought it was finished! It was a star-studded lineup with tons of surprises!

Jidenna kicked off the festivities before Desiigner kicked up the energy a few notches as he went deep into the crowd to perform hits such is “Out,” “Tiimmy Turner” before returning to the stage with Panda.

The surprises came early as Brooklyn’s very own Joey Bada$$ hit the stage on his own before calling out Mobb Deep to perform “Shook Ones” and “Quiet Storm.”

What everyone will be talking about for years to come is Remy Ma’s classic Summer Jam performance. She made a statement as she brought out female artists of today and also brought some of the legends of yesteryear. First Young M.A came out before Cardi B skipped to the stage to a large roar from the crowd. It continued as legends such as Lil’ Kim hit the stage before Lady Of Rage, MC Lyte and other circled Remy before Queen Latifah hit the Summer Jam stage. Before leaving the stage she performed her Nicki Minaj diss “Shether” while memes and photos of Nicki were posted on the Summer Jam screen.

Oh My God! The Female MC lives! Queen Latifah! #SummerJam #AppleMusic
