Cardi B Opens up About Recording Verse for ‘Munch’ Remix & Why She Didn’t Like It

Cardi B, the renowned rapper, recently disclosed an interesting tidbit about her music journey. She confessed to recording a verse for a remix of Ice Spice’s popular track “Munch.” However, she ultimately decided against releasing it due to her dissatisfaction with how it turned out.

In a candid conversation with Speedy Morman, Cardi candidly shared her reservations about the remix. She expressed concerns about potential backlash from her fanbase, fearing they would criticize her performance on the drill beat.

“I did record something for Ice Spice, but I didn’t like how it sounded,” Cardi explained.

“I love the song, but I didn’t like my part. Rapping over a drill beat isn’t as easy as it seems. I was afraid people would criticize me and the song.”

Cardi elaborated on the challenges of rapping over a drill beat, expressing her concern that her contribution wouldn’t enhance the song. Despite initially being excited about the remix and even sharing a snippet of her verse on Instagram in 2022, Cardi ultimately decided against its release.

Ice Spice, upon hearing Cardi’s verse preview, reacted positively, sharing it on her Instagram Story with the caption “Bardiii.” However, Cardi clarified on Twitter that she wouldn’t be releasing the remix.

She explained that while she enjoyed recording it, she didn’t feel it lived up to her expectations, emphasizing that she was simply having fun experimenting with the song.

This revelation offers insight into the meticulous approach Cardi takes towards her music. Despite her status as a prominent figure in the industry, she remains committed to delivering quality content that aligns with her artistic vision.
