Chris Rock isn’t letting the Oscar’s situation stop him from anything.
Over the weekend, the comedian appeared at New York City’s Madison Square Garden for his and Kevin Hart’s comedy show. The two co-headlined the event.
ET reports Chris said a joke about cancel culture and getting slapped by Will Smith; however, according to the report, Chris didn’t mention Will’s name directly. The article says Chris spoke on cancel culture and said, “anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face.”
Earlier this year at the Oscars, Will slapped Chris after Chris made a joke that he was looking forward to a sequel to “G.I. Jane,” which was ultimately a jab at Jada Pinkett-Smith’s shaved head. Jada has alopecia and didn’t take to the joke. When Will sat back down, he shouted to Chris, “keep my wife’s name out of your f*** mouth.
Chris has yet to speak on the slap publicly. Shortly after the incident, he made a joke at a comedy show in May. He reportedly said, “I’m okay, if anybody was wondering.” Then he continued, “I got most of my hearing back.” At another comedy show, Chris allegedly said he got slapped by the “softest n*gga that ever rapped.”
It’s unclear if Chris will ever speak on the situation during an interview; we’ll keep you updated if he does.
In other Chris Rock news, he admitted to shooting his shot with Megan Thee Stallion in the past. While chopping it up with Kevin Hart, Chris jokingly told Megan, “when you get to your old n*gga phase, call me.” Take a look at a clip:
People recently reported Chris is boo’d up with actress/director Lake Bell, 43. The 57-year-old comedian/actor was spotted with his bae over the weekend. They first sparked dating rumors in June. Check it out:
