Donald Trump is cashing out on his recent arrest. According to POLITICO, a spokesperson representing his 2024 presidential run claimed that they’ve raised $7.1 million off his mugshot.
The former president’s infamous mugshot was taken after turning himself in to authorities at Fulton County Jail last Thursday (Aug. 24). He raised $4.18 million on Friday (Aug. 25) alone, making it the single-highest 24-hour period of his campaign to date.
On Aug. 14, an Atlanta-based grand jury indicted Trump and 18 of his allies, including personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, on felony charges. The 77-year-old was charged with 13 counts out of the 41-count racketeering and conspiracy indictment, according to the 98-page indictment. The racketeering charge can carry a sentence of five to 20 years, while the conspiracy charge can result in a minimum of one year in prison with a variable maximum sentence.
