Kevin Durant makes it very clear that he has no plans on retiring.
Durant has recently requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, which in turn sparked up a few speculations. It’s unclear as of now what the future holds from Durant as far as what team he’ll land on- but one thing for sure, he won’t be retiring.
The rumor stemmed from Marc Stein stating that Durant would “rather retire” than play for the Nets next season. Durant caught wind of the comments and swiftly shut it down. He tweets, “I know most people will believe unnamed sources over me but if it’s anyone out there that’ll listen, I don’t plan on retiring anytime soon. Sh*t is comical at this point.”
Social media had mixed reactions to Durant’s response. One user replied, “when i saw that “news” this morning i was just waiting for KD to come on here and call BS respect to him for always keeping it real and not allowing people to put words in his mouth..” and another, “This drama is getting out of hand. If I were you, I would stay on the Nets..”
With the NBA season just two months away- we’ll have to see how this all unfolds.
