Lauren London reflects on the trauma from losing Nipsey Hussle at the hands of senseless gun violence. During the conversation, Lauren talks about how she’s been able to heal. The ATL actress gives all the credit to God but admits it hasn’t been an easy battle.

“For me, what’s really been important is connecting with God. And that’s been a struggle because something horrible happened in your eye, and you’re like, ‘How God?’ ” she said. “It’s not easy. I don’t always wake up on the enlightened side of the bed. And the days I don’t, I let myself, ’cause I’m human. I’m not always gonna feel so, ‘I’m gonna be OK.’ I don’t, and that’s OK too.”

Lauren went on to say that she lets herself be human and she’s gentle with herself. She also finds things in life that matter so she feels she has a purpose. Since Nipsey’s death, Lauren spends time helping others with similar experiences by talking to teens who also lost loved ones to violence.

Jada asked Lauren about raising black children, specifically black boys in America, and Lauren says she teaches them how to properly talk to police when having an encounter with them.

Nip and Lauren started dating around 2013 and share a three-year-old son together, Kross Asghedom. Lauren also has a 10-year-old son with Lil Wayne, Kameron Carter.

Nipsey Tha Great was shot and killed outside of his clothing store in Los Angeles last year. Eric Holder is the man accused of killing the “Hussle & Motivate” rapper and his trial date was slated to be concluded by April but was pushed back until June 8.
