Snoop Dogg is known for many things throughout his career, but most notably he is known for his love of weed. However, now the rapper has announced he is done with the herb.
He took to social media Thursday to make the announcement.
“After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke,” the statement read. “Please respect my privacy at this time.”
The rapper provided no additional context after the post. However, this does come as a surprise to many not only because of his history with cannabis use but because of his investments in the industry. In 2020, Snoop Dogg was given the Clio Cannabis Awards’ Lifetime Achievement for his work and impact on the cannabis industry. He is the owner of the Merry Jane brand and his Leafs by Snoop line. Additionally founded Casa Verde Capital which invests in start-up cannabis companies.
