Update: According to US Weekly, a source confirms that Nelly and Ashanti are expecting their first child together.
Fans began speculating that Nelly and Ashanti may be expecting their first child together after THIS video goes viral.
The two were spotted together during Nelly’s Black & White Charity Ball 2023 in St. Louis. After the hit the stage together, video captures Nelly placing his hand on Ashanti’s belly as the crowd chanted “seal the deal.” Ashanti also placed her hands on her lower belly, which left fans to believe a bun may be in the over. “Did Nelly Just Announce Ashanti Is Pregnant?” asks one fan. “
We previously reported that Nelly confirmed that they were back together in an interview with Love and Hip-Hop stars Rasheeda and Kirk Frost.
When Rasheeda asked if the relationship was back, Nelly responds, “yeah, we cool again,” he said in a clip. “I think it surprised both of us, though. It wasn’t anything that …[was] planned. I think we’re both pretty much doing what we do.”
He continued, “Sometimes being separate you understand one another more,” he said. “You could be like, ‘Yo, let me see exactly what they see.’ You know, because we all can be defensive sometimes in our own relationships. And we know we wrong but we going to stand on it. But we all a victim to that.”
“Yeah,” he said. “I mean, because it’s no pressure. Before I felt like both of us are doing what we’re doing career-wise and when you got so many people in the middle of it, it could be tough.”
