Eminem and 50 Cent are questioned about Slim Shady’s murder in a new promo for Eminem’s upcoming album.
Set this Summer, the trailer for The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) investigates the death of Eminem’s menacing alter ego, Slim Shady. 50 Cent and Eminem discuss the psychotic nature of the rap persona while authorities investigate the crime scene in the promo. “I thought we were friends,” 50 Cent told the interrogator. “He’s a psychopath.”
“Well whoever did it, I’d like to shake their hand someday,” said Eminem behind a blurred face.
The Death of Slim Shady follows his platinum-selling 11th album, Music To Be Murdered By (2020), featuring Ed Sheeran, JuiceWrld, Don Toliver, Black Thought, and more. Eminem released a few new tracks with Lyrical Lemonade in 2023 that dissed longtime rival Benzino.
Dr. Dre shared news of Eminem’s upcoming album release during his Walk of Fame campaign last month. The iconic producer also revealed that he, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent were working on new albums, with plans for 2024 releases.
Dr. Dre will provide production on Eminem’s new album. Dre told Jimmy Kimmel that he has heard some of the new music and scheduled studio time with his protege to add to their classic catalog, which includes previous hits, “Forgot About Dre,” “Bitch Please II,” and “I Need A Doctor.”
Eminem expressed interest in a joint album with 50 Cent. However, 50 appears more excited about creating an 8 Mile TV series that retells Eminem’s battle rap career. The soundtrack to the 2002 film surpassed 2.4 billion streams last month.
In other news, Eminem will appear as a surprise guest in the upcoming season of Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow.
