A 50 Cent-themed escape room will open in the Shreve Memorial Libray this fall in Shreveport, Louisiana. The unique experience called “Get Rich or Read Trying” delivers an escape room experience based on the mogul’s life and career.
Participants are invited to solve puzzles, solve clues, and solve riddles based on the iconic rapper’s work. Each team will have 60 minutes to complete the challenge. In addition to launching a film studio and becoming Shreveport’s second-largest property owner, 50 Cent’s latest venture adds to his ever-growing connections to the city.
Over the summer, 50 Cent purchased various properties in Downtown Shreveport, which pleased city leaders. Shreveport officials hope the mogul’s purchases will attract other investors. “The fact that we’re talking about it today shows the importance,” said Downtown Development Authority Janie Landry in June.
She added: “For one thing, it shows the significance of downtown. It also shows to other potential investors the importance of downtown Shreveport. “I think overall it helps individuals that may be wanting to purchase a property in downtown Shreveport, that they can say to themselves if Curtis Jackson wants to be in downtown Shreveport, then maybe I do too.”
The festival will take place at the West Shreveport Branch on Friday, October 18, from 3:50 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. Guests are recommended to arrive early to take advantage of food vendors, games, activities, prizes, and live music. Food and prizes are first come, first served.
The 50 Cent-themed escape room kicks off at 4380 Pines Road on Monday, October 21, and runs through Friday, November 21. Participation is free, but you’ll need to sign up for a time slot either during the library’s “Fall into the West” festival or by calling (318) 635-0883. An adult must accompany anyone under 16.
