Summer Walker made a surprise rap debut today (Nov. 22) on “Sense Dat God Gave You,” featuring her rapper friend Sexyy Red. In the accompanying music video, the pregnant R&B singer is seen spitting bars at a gas station while getting groceries, twerking on top of a Honda and throwing money.
“Bald head scalawag, ain’t got no hair on my cat. If I don’t get my cheese ni**a, 6ix9ine, you can call me a rat. We finna tear down the mall, you know we got a plan. I drop the Perc in his drink and I don’t give a damn,” Walker raps.
“I’m NOT a rapper lmao I just wanted to do hood rat stuff with my friend,” she wrote in the caption of an Instagram post, explaining the inspiration behind the project.
The “Girls Need Love” hitmaker is expecting her second child with rapper LVRD Pharoh, whose real name is Larry. She recently announced that the two are no longer together. In her Instagram Story, Walker posted a photo of her and LVRD Pharoh posing with her 1-year-old daughter, whom she shares with producer London On Da Track.
“People been trying to be in my business bad lately, [I don’t know] why y’all need updates on my life lol, like go touch grass but I’ve decided to be single,” she wrote over the picture. “It’s no hard feelings, Larry is an amazing father. There’s just certain things I won’t tolerate, but we’re super duper happy to have all our children [and] we just living life,” she added.
As previously reported by HOT 97, last week the “No Love” singer called out the Recording Academy for snubbing her again. She has put out two chart hitting albums, Over It and Still Over It, and neither of them have been recognized by the Recording Academy. “[And] as for the Grammys, for a [second] time, the math is literally not mathing… I was [going to] post some numbers but it’s okay. At least the streets [f**k] with me. Ya’ll always pack out every show [and] support every time I drop, so thanks for the love I do receive,” Walker posted on her Instagram Story.
