Action Bronson is set to return to the big screen in 2025 as he joins the star-studded cast of the upcoming Darren Aronofsky crime thriller called Caught Stealing.
Variety broke the news last week, the 40-year-old Queens rap star’s role remains unknown, but marked his most significant role so far by the trade publication. From Sony Pictures, the upcoming film is set to tell a story about a man’s fight for survival in the underworld of 90s New York. Bronson joins a cast of Zoë Kravitz (Blink Twice), Austin Butler (Elvis), Liev Schreiber (The Perfect Couple), and Bad Bunny (Bullet Train).
Caught Stealing is based on the popular books by Charlie Hutson. The film’s synopsis reads: “Burned-out ex-baseball player Hank Thompson unexpectedly finds himself embroiled in a dangerous struggle for survival amidst the criminal underbelly of 1990s New York City, forced to navigate a treacherous underworld he never imagined.”
The upcoming film adds to Bronson’s flourishing film career, including roles in The King of Staten Island (2020) and The Irishman (2019). A culinary show he hosts is called F*ck, That’s Delicious. Bronson’s acting career began in 2015.
In July, Bronson released his latest album, Johann Sebastian Bachlava The Doctor. His ninth album features Yung Mehico, Julian Love, Mayhem Lauren, and The Alchemist. He is currently on a european tour in promotion of the album.
Last month, Action Bronson debuted his own take on the new New Balance 990v6 as part of his New Balance partnership in 2023. The sneaker culture recognizes Bronson as one of the most popular collaborators. A $140 price tag will accompany the shoe collaboration.
The worldwide release of Caught Stealing is scheduled for 2025.
