Akon On Diddy: “Gotta Sit Back & Let It Play Out”

Akon For President 2020?

As for Diddy, Akon allows the mogul to defend himself in court.

The “Locked Up” hitmaker spoke to TMZ on Monday about Sean Combs and his high-profile sex trafficking and racketeering case at LAX. Akon declined to comment on Diddy being “targeted because of his success” and acknowledged it was not his place to speculate.

When asked about Diddy’s attorneys’ claims, Akon said: “That’s a Diddy issue. I don’t have any thoughts on it … Stuff like that, you can’t really get involved in.”

Then, Akon diverts the conversation to claims of a spiritual shift occurring in music right now. He added: “I just think it’s a spiritual shift that’s happening and we just gotta sit back and relax and watch. Mind our own business and whatever people are doing on their personal time is something they have to deal with on their own.”

After the spiritual comment, Akon returned to the conversation about Diddy, saying, “At the end of the day, we just have to sit back and let it all play out.”

Diddy was arrested and taken into custody by federal authorities at a Midtown Manhattan hotel in September. The federal grand indictment was unsealed two weeks ago, which indicates that the mogul’s charges include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for purposes of prostitution.

He has pled “not guilty” and has been denied bail twice as he awaits trial. His lawyer has stated that the artist is eager to clear his name in court, signaling a forthcoming legal battle. Diddy remains in solitary confinement at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Netflix is releasing a documentary produced by 50 Cent about Diddy’s allegations. 50 has been trolling Combs for years. A few weeks ago, 50 revealed that he has never attended a Diddy party because he and the mogul aren’t friends.
