Angel Reese says people aren’t watching the WNBA just because of one person.

The Chicago Sky player expressed, “I’ll look back in 20 years and be like: ‘Yeah, the reason why we’re watching women’s basketball is not just because of one person, it’s because of me, too.’ I want y’all to realize that. It’s not just because of one person,” she said.

“A lot of us have done so much for this game. Chennedy has been here before, obviously. There are so many great players in this league that have deserved this for a really, really long time. Luckily, it’s coming now.”

We previously reported that the Bayou Barbie shared a heartwarming video via Instagram announcing that she will declare for the 2024 WBNA draft. “Grateful for these last four years and excited for this next chapter” she captions the Instagram video.

“I’ve done everything I wanted to in college,” Reese expressed. “I’ve won a national championship, I’ve gotten [Southeastern Conference] Player of the Year, I’ve been an All-American. My ultimate goal is to be a pro—and to be one of the greatest basketball players to play, ever. I feel like I’m ready” she says in an interview with Vogue.

“To sum it up, it’s been crazy,” she says of her time at LSU.

The news comes after LSU lost the Albany 2 Regional final game to Iowa with a score of 94-87. After the game, Reese says, “Yeah, we’ve seen everything this year. We have been through so much adversity. I’m more than proud of this team. We don’t have that much depth. We have some injuries. I took some time away from the team,” said Reese.
