On Friday night at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, electronic artist Fred Again kicked off a three-night residency in New York City. For those unfamiliar Fred Again is arguably the hottest up and coming EDM artist in the world, his ability to blend house music, hip-hop, and melodies are something the world has never seen.
In the past Fred Again has collaborated with hip-hop artists like Yung Bleu and Flowdan, but on Friday night in Queens – Fred Again teased a major collaboration. During arguably Fred Again’s most popular song “Rumble” which has been streamed more than 200 million times, he began to incorporate an unheard verse by Baby Keem.
Strangely enough, it’s hard to tell with Fred Again if the Keem verse was specifically intended to Rumble or not because his performance style is so spontaneous and chaotic. For those unfamiliar Fred Again performs with a variety of beat pads and synthesizers, rather than two turntables like a traditional DJ.
New Fred Again & Baby Keem Project?
After much research on the subject, it seems as though Fred Again has a couple Baby Keem verses in the vault. This weekend seems to have been the unveiling of the Baby Keem remix of Rumble but on TikTok and YouTube there are dozens of clips for a second Keem & Fred collab that fans are calling Leave Me Alone.
In hip-hop right now, we’re seeing artists branch out into other genres more than ever from jersey club to country, so Keem linking up with the most popular electronic artist on Earth is an amazing decision.
Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Don’t be surprised if you see Baby Keem’s name on a Fred Again sometime in the near future. If we’re lucky we just might get a full EP with two of the biggest names in music. It’s been a slow 2023 for Baby Keem, a Fred Again collab would be an amazing way for Keem to leave 2023 and enter 2024 in album mode.
This collaboration would also have the great benefit of introducing Fred Again’s production style to the hip-hop world. It’s a win-win.
