Ja Rule is trying to keep the peace.

Irv Gotti has been making headlines this week after his explosive interview of N.O.R.E’s ‘Drink Champs.’

During the interview Irv made some choice comments towards Ashanti that didn’t really sit too well with some people on social media. He says, “I could get past you wanting to be with Nelly,” Irv said in the clip. “Listen, at the time, it happens… any man is hurt. The chick that you fuckin’ are in love with is with this n***a.” He also went on to say that Ashanti’s hit record ‘Happy’ was created right after to two had sex.

Following the interview, Fat Joe took to his own platform to call out Irv Gotti for his comments, and also Ja Rule for not standing up for Ashanti. “Y’all can @ IrvGotti, Ja, whatever the fuck you want,” Joe said in a video posted to Instagram. “Whatever Irv has with Ashanti is 20 years old, right? I know he was making some points that mean a lot to him, his heart, and soul. But when you keep ranting about somebody 20 years later, it feels like he’s not over the young lady, right?”

Ja Rule took to Instagram and says to “leave him out of it.” He writes, “Brotherly love … The last few days have been very turbulent for me but it’s time to land the plane…” Ja wrote. “I love my sis, I love my bro, but I DO NOT condone or agree with the behavior, nor the way Gotti handled things on Drink Champs. I hope y’all understand how uncomfortable this is for me being in the middle of something I wish to not be… Going forward, all I ask is to be left out of this please and thank you!!! Sincerely Switzerland Bennett.”

Ashanti simply responded with a few heart emojis, as well as the praying hands. Take a look below.
